The Daily Catch: Reviews & Ratings
Tasty pasta and calamari. Restaurant is very small so youll likely have a line. But they figured it out and our group of 5 was seated in about 20 mins! Very cool seeing the active kitchen in the same room
We love this place. The food was simply delicious and the service was so good! Be mindful of its limited space, though. It might not be that convenient for a group larger than 8 people and anyone not slim may feel some physical constraints. They now have a bigger place near the waterfront, but imho, the original restaurant has its own charm:) It’s CASH ONLY! But there is a BOFA branch just cross the road, so no need to panic if you suddenly find yourself running low on cash. In terms of food, we enjoyed the baked clams and monkfish. The price was reasonable and food came fairly fast.
Tight fit in the restaurant. On cold days you'll get blasted by a chill anytime someone opens the door. The food didn't live to the reputation. It was good but not amazing or memorable and definitely comparable to a lot of other seafood restaurants in boston. Don't kill yourself waiting in line for this particular restaurant.
A small hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant. The locals recommended we stop by here for lunch while visiting Boston and it was well worth it! The kitchen is right next to the dining area so you can watch the chef in action. All the dishes were flavorful but I’d say my top dish was the clam pasta. The Monkfish Marsala does have a sweet taste to it and a nice aroma. We definitely came out of there fully stuffed and likely will come back in the future! Be aware that they take cash only.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Daily Catch – North End, Boston If you’re looking for authentic, unforgettable seafood pasta in Boston, The Daily Catch is a must. I’m a huge fan of their Lobster Fra Diavolo. It’s hands down one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. The flavors are bold, spicy, and perfectly balanced, and you can really taste how fresh the ingredients are. The place itself is small and cozy, with that classic North End charm. You might have to wait for a table, but it’s absolutely worth it. Every bite reminds me why I keep coming back! It’s that good! Can’t say enough good things about this spot. A true Boston gem!
While visiting from California, we were looking for authentic Italian food and Daily Catch in the North End did not disappoint. The place is tiny, cozy, and full of charm. We waited outside for about 10 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it. Locals recommended this spot—and they were 100% right. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. We started with a side of broccoli sautéed with garlic and oil, which was incredibly flavorful and delicious. For our mains, we ordered the black ink pasta with clams and the fettuccine with mussels. The bread served at the start was a great touch, and our food arrived piping hot in the pan, clearly made fresh to order. The pasta was perfectly al dente and cooked to perfection. we also ordered calamari- perfect and delicious! We were so impressed and can’t wait to return to Boston just to eat here again!
The daily catch never disappoints our bellies. Great homemade black pasta, shrimp scampi along with monkfish marsala were tasty. Our server/Maria was super nice. Certainly without a doubt of coming back for more bites!
During my last trip to Boston, we finally made it to this popular Italian spot in the North End that I had been wanting to try. They don’t seem to take reservations, and we waited about 40 minutes in line—which is pretty typical for Italian restaurants in this area. The place is quite small, with limited seating, so expect to share long bench-style tables with other diners. The open kitchen and handwritten menu on the blackboard add a rustic, authentic charm. To start, they served complimentary bread with their signature olive oil and balsamic dip. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer—it was fresh, crispy, and came in a generous portion. For mains, we chose the shrimp scampi and a lobster pasta. The lobster dish stood out with huge chunks of fresh lobster in a light garlic and marinara base. It was simple but executed perfectly, though a little messy to eat. The shrimp scampi was also very straightforward, highlighting the quality of the seafood and fresh pasta. All dishes are served in the cooking pan, which makes the presentation unique. Portions are large and very filling—we couldn’t even try the black pasta I had my eye on, nor did we have room for dessert. We skipped the wine this time, but I’d recommend pairing one with their pasta. Overall, the experience was excellent: flavorful food, rustic ambiance, and a lively North End vibe. Just note—it’s cash only, so be prepared. I’d definitely recommend it and plan to return.
